Youth ministries are youth and adults working together so that youth might grow and participate in their baptismal relationships with their Lord, themselves, and the world through the means of grace and the congregations ministries of proclamation, teaching, worship, community, witness, and service. First English Lutheran Church's Youth Group is a mixture of Middle and High School Youth who live in the city and surrounding counties and go to different schools, yet share the one thing that unites them together, the love of God in Christ Jesus. Youth come together by holding regular meetings, participating in service projects, holding fund raisers, participating in Virginia Synod youth events such as Lost and Found, Winter Celebration, and Kairos, and gathering for other fun activities. Throughout the year, youth serve the congregation as acolytes (candle lighters and crucifers) and as role models for younger children of the congregation. Read More
