"We invite you to study, pray and give with us during ELCA World Hunger’s 40 Days of Giving — for the good of our families, our neighbors and communities around the world."
ELCA World Hunger
Some of us grew up in a time when it was in vogue to give up something for the duration of Lent. Many of us heard about giving up chocolate for Lent. But did you ever notice how busy candy companies got in churning out chocolate Easter eggs and bunnies? So instead of giving up something for Lent, maybe it’s a better idea to give something for Lent. This year, our special Lenten offerings (Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and any checks or monies so designated) will be sent to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America World Hunger ministries. Our church has quite a gem in this arm of our shared ministry to the hungry throughout the world. To learn more, go to www.elca.org/hunger.
